Greenwood – Cash Back for Buying Black Program 

Terms and Conditions

Effective Date 03/20/2025

  1. Introduction

The Cash Back for Buying Black Program (the “Program“) is designed to reward eligible customers with cash back on qualified transactions.

For the purposes of these Terms:

  • “Cash Back Reward” means the cash back amount earned by an eligible customer for completing qualified transactions under the Program.
  • “Offer Terms” define the specific details governing Cash Back Reward eligibility, including what constitutes a qualified transaction, cash back percentages, and any restrictions. Offer Terms may vary by participating business and are available on the Greenwood website or mobile app.
  • “Offer Timeframe” refers to the period during which a specific Cash Back Reward offer is available and published on the Greenwood website or mobile app. Only transactions made within this timeframe qualify for a Cash Back Reward.
  • “Qualified Transaction” is a swipe or point-of-sale transaction made in-store using a Greenwood Mastercard Debit Card at a participating Black-owned business during the Offer Timeframe.

Any capitalized term not defined in the Cash Back for Buying Black Program Terms shall have the meaning assigned to it in the Greenwood Inc. Account Terms and Conditions.

By participating in the Program, customers agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions. These Terms supplement and are in addition to your Greenwood Inc. Account Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy, which remain in full force and effect.

  1. Eligibility
  • This Program is only available to Greenwood customers who are a Premium Member.
  1. Earning a Cash Back Reward 
  • A Cash Back Reward is earned on qualified transactions only.
  • A listing of participating Black-owned businesses and Offer Terms is available on the Greenwood website or mobile app and may be updated periodically.
  • Eligible customers can earn up to an aggregate Cash Back Reward total of $1,000 per year. Additionally, each qualified transaction is subject to a $250 Cash Back Reward limit.
  • Only transactions made within the Offer Timeframe qualify for a Cash Back Reward.
  • Greenwood reserves the right to update or remove Offer Terms at any time without prior notice.
  1. Cash Back Reward Application
  • A Cash Back Reward will be credited in the form of a statement credit to the customer’s Spending Account up to 45 days after the qualified transaction posts.
  • Cash Back Reward will not appear on merchant receipts at the time of purchase.
  1. Account Status and Disputes
  • A Cash Back Reward may not be credited if a dispute or chargeback is initiated on a qualified transaction.
  • If a Spending Account is closed or the account is not in good standing before a Cash Back Reward is credited, the reward may be forfeited unless required by law or in cases of verified error or dispute.
  1. Program Changes and Termination
  • Greenwood reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Program at any time, with or without prior notice. Notice of the amendment or change will be provided to you as required under applicable law. Your continued use of your Greenwood Spending Account, Greenwood Mastercard Debit Card, participation in the Program, or receipt of a Cash Back Reward after the updated Terms are posted will constitute your acceptance of the revised Terms.
  • Any changes will be communicated via the Greenwood website, mobile app, or direct customer notifications.
  1. General Terms
  • Participation in the Program indicates acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
  • A Cash Back Reward has no cash value until credited to the customer’s Spending Account.
  • Greenwood is not responsible for merchant actions, including product quality, service availability, or pricing.
  • Greenwood may issue you an IRS Form 1099-MISC, or other appropriate forms reporting the value of the Cash Back Reward earned through the Program.
  • Customers are responsible for any tax liabilities associated with the Cash Back for Buying Black Program and should consult a tax professional as needed.
  • If it is determined that you have engaged in or plan to engage in abuse or gaming in connection with the Program, you will be prohibited from further participation in the Program, forfeit any Cash Back Reward that you have earned but have not yet been distributed to you and Greenwood reserves the right to recover any Cash Back Reward that you have already received.
  1. Opting Out

Customers may opt out of the Program at any time by contacting Greenwood customer support. Opting out will not affect previously earned Cash Back Rewards, which will be credited according to these Terms unless the customer also closes their Greenwood Spending Account.
