GREENWOOD NAMED TO FAST COMPANY’S SECOND ANNUAL LIST OF “BRANDS THAT MATTER” LEARN MORE

Black Wallstreet 2.0

The original Black Wall Street may be no more but in this generation we are seeing a great shift and a “new” black wall street being developed.

  • According to the U.S. Census Bureau, In 2019, there were 134,567 Black-owned employer businesses, up 8% from 2018.
  • These businesses weren’t twiddling their thumbs–they had $133.7 billion in annual receipts, 1.3 million employees and about $40.5 billion in annual payroll. Yep. As Black and as magical as it gets.
  • Black women currently account for 2.7 million business owners nationwide

These numbers show we’re taking ownership, taking up more space, and hopefully that will translate to building more wealth.
