GREENWOOD NAMED TO FAST COMPANY’S SECOND ANNUAL LIST OF “BRANDS THAT MATTER” LEARN MORE

Get an EIN Once You Establish Your Small Business

If you are small business owner and using your Social Security Number on the W9 form, please stop. You don’t want your personal SSN floating around.

You need an EIN number—here’s how and why!

An EIN is an employee identification number. Use an EIN to:

  • Open a business bank account
  • Establish business credit
  • Fill out your W9, which then gets associated with your 1099.
  • If you don’t have time to get an EIN because you’re booked and busy, know they’re issued as soon as you complete your application online which should take less than five minutes.
