Tips To Protect Your Legacy

To avoid the scammer blues and get a few steps ahead of the game, here’s what you can do:

Put a freeze on your credit: this limits access to your credit files meaning scammers can’t scam and open accounts with your details.

Check your statements–brokerage, retirement, savings and any other asset accounts regularly.

Pay for credit monitoring services: they hit you up when something is off on your credit report.

Use an identity monitoring and recovery service: protect your identity, help with recovery if identity theft happens, and sometimes offer credit report monitoring too.

Subscribe to notifications/alerts so you’re aware when transactions take place on your accounts Use multi-step authentication for all online accounts. It might be annoying for you but it’ll be even more annoying to scammers!

Change your passwords every three months: Please don’t use bae or the babies names–choose something difficult.

Limit digital copies of sensitive info such as your social security numbers, full account numbers, card details and address.
